Alto Customers take top honours

Two of Alto Fabrication's key customers won at this years Power of Aluminium Awards. The Awards were established to promote the use of Aluminium as the "Metal of the Future" and were held at Warwick University. Firstly, James & Taylor picked up the award in the "Most Innovative Surface Finish" category for their building facades. Whilst Volume Products scooped the award in the "Consumer Engineered Products" category. The awards were presented by designer Wayne Hemingway.

Alto becomes preferred supplier

In January 2007, Alto was awarded an ongoing fabrication Contract with Volume Products Ltd. Volume Products have a unique range of screened workstations and moveable, self contained rooms for use in offices, schools, libraries and financial institutions. Some of the UK’s best known organisations have awarded contracts to Volume Products including HSBC, Egg and Yorkshire Bank. The products are manufactured from Aluminium Extrusion that Alto Fabrication cut, machine, bend and anodise to create a fully integrated office solution.
Alto combine complete project management with the proven experience of engineering to fabricate and supply innovative Aluminium components for Volume’s workplace applications.

Alto’s venture into building facades

July 2007
During the last quarter of 2006, Alto Fabrication was awarded an ongoing contract from James & Taylor. The Surrey based supplier of building facades and cladding used Alto to complete the fabrication of a new mesh panel, intended for the recently constructed Stephen Lawrence Centre in Deptford, London. The new mesh façade was constructed by cutting sheets of expanded aluminium to size and then surrounded by a welded frame. Since the contract’s completion, the mesh panels have also been used on The Museum of Contemporary Art in Manhattan, NY, and Milton Keynes General Hospital Car Park. A variety of processes are used to complete the construction of the panels including sheet cutting, piercing and welding.
