Fixed Tail Dock supplied to CityJet

July 2007
In July 2007, City Jet, based at Dublin airport, took delivery of a bespoke, fixed Tail Dock to fit with the BAe 146/RJ aircraft. The unit was designed so that aircraft is reversed into the dock at the back of the hanger.
Traditional tail docks are pushed around the tail once the plane is in a parked position. This fixed unit now means that there is no time used to move the equipment away when maintenance has been completed.

Inspection Steps used at “Charles de Gaul”

July 2007
City Jet also purchased specifically designed mobile inspection steps that are wheeled up to the plane when it is still on the apron. These units are now in full use at Dublin Airport and Air France headquarters, Charles de Gaul Airport, Paris. The parent company to CityJet uses the units for inspections in case of ice build-up on wings.

Tail dock installed at KLM

May 2007
In May 2007 Alto supplied and installed a Tail dock to KLM in Norwich. The unit is for use with BAe 146/RJ Aircraft. The Dutch based airline company purchased the tail dock after seeing a version of the access equipment in use at Flybe’s hangers, Exeter.

Alto supply FlyBe

2005 - onwards
Back in 2005, FlyBe constructed 2 brand new hangers at their headquarters at Exeter Airport. The new hangers provide space for 6 passenger planes at any one time for servicing and maintenance. To partner these new hangers, Alto supplied Flybe with a range of access equipment to undertake the aircraft maintenance.
Alto designers worked in conjunction with Flybe engineers and staff to come up with an access solution for the use on BAe 146/RJ passenger aircrafts and Bombardier Q400 Dash 8 passenger Aircrafts. Now, with the introduction of Flybe’s new aircraft – the Embraer 195, Alto are now currently designing a new set of access units to suit the 122 seater passenger plane.
